My first idea for a music video is using the song Grayson by Cameron Lane. There is no existing music video therefore my vision would not be affected. It only has around 2000 streams on Spotify and 400 YouTube views. I found it on a copyright free website where small artists post their music for free use, therefore there would be no copy right issues.
I think that this song has lots of fun lyrics that I could visually play with. I would want the video to be more chilled and casual (not so high production). I would want it to seem like it is for a smaller and upcoming artist (potentially unsigned). I would want it almost to be one tracking shot following the artist, with some interruptions. Wobbly shots as if someone is walking along with her and almost running with her).
The artist herself would be wearing cool but casual clothing (not so done up so the audience can relate to her as a normal person). I would want the video to start of with a shot of her fingers on a pad creating the beat at the beginning of the song. The camera would slowly zoom out revealing the artist and would track her while she picks up a guitar and plays the first few strums of guitar as they come in. After about 4 beats she would take the guitar off and put it down walking towards the camera tracking her as she mouths the lyrics as she potentially puts headphones on. When the song reaches hips were glued, could potentially hit into someone else's hip by accident. When the line that old picture that I drew of you she could potentially sit for a few seconds pick up a notebook and pencil and then stand up leaving the drawing (camera pan to it and then back to the artist still walking along).
the camera would continue tracking until on curly haired forever where she would cover the camera with her hand go into a blackout and then on until I wake up we could see her in a different outfit waking up from a pillow and then zooming out until she gets up. She could sit against the door for a bit until standing in an empty bedroom (where she would be standing in the room). Then do a cool transition maybe going around her and see her laying in a field on the lyric laying in an open field. We would then see circular 360 shots of her standing and singing until the bridge is over and then possibly her outside a window at the end.
